Dr. Joe Hendricks
Born and raised in Los Angeles, CA, Dr. Joe attended University of California – Irvine and University of California – Davis. Prior to entering UC Davis’ School of Veterinary Medicine. Dr. Joe graduated from Veterinary School in 1982 and moved to Owosso, MI with his wife, Susan (who is also an animal practitioner), where he worked in a mixed animal practice for seven years. In 1990 Dr. Joe and Dr. Sue opened Briarwood Veterinary Hospital in Grand Blanc. Dr. Joe and Dr. Sue have two girls, Kristen, 26 years old, and Katie, 24. Both girls are in graduate school. Dr. Joe also lives with two cats – both orphans at one time that Dr. Sue has hand raised.
Dr. Amy Webb-Kallin
Graduated from Michigan State College of Veterinary Medicine in 2003. She joined the staff of Briarwood Veterinary Hospital as an Associate Veterinarian in 2004. Dr. Amy is married and has two little girls. She also has a Havanese dog named Ellie.
Cindy Carney, Practice Manager
Cindy joined the amazing Briarwood family in 2016 after 30+ years in the veterinary profession. She worked in California, Texas and moved to Michigan in 1987, working as a receptionist, Certified Veterinary Technician and in 1998 as a Practice Manager. Veterinary Medicine has been a lifelong passion of hers. She is the “mother” of 2 dogs, 4 cats, 10 chickens…and 2 human sons. In her free time, she enjoys yoga, pottery, snowshoeing and spending time with her family.

Jenn - Licensed Veterinary Technician
Jennifer joined the Briarwood Hospital family in 2016. She started in the Veterinary field in 1999 as an assistant before earning her Veterinary Technician License from Baker college in 2003. Jennifer is also certified in Laser Therapy. She is passionate about client communication and enjoys educating clients on a variety of topics from basic pet care to disease processes. Her interests outside of work include: hiking, kayaking, yoga, pilates, scrapbooking and reading. In her free time, she likes spending time with her family which includes her Dog Isla, and two cats Norie and Karmy.
Sheila - Licensed Veterinary Technician
Sheila joined the Briarwood Team in 2016 having 5 years of previous veterinary experience. She earned her Associates degree in the Applied Arts & Sciences in 2003 and in 2011 she also earned her Associate of Applied Science degree in Veterinary Technology. Her favorite part of working at Briarwood is loving on cats and kittens. While she is not at work she enjoys riding her bike, playing disc golf, making bicycle streamers, reading and playing with her cat. Sheila is very fond of her kitty, "Oscar Thunderkat", and loves spending time with him because he is a goofy, furry, ball of fun that makes her laugh every single day.
Alisha - Licensed Veterinary Technician
Alisha has been a part of the Briarwood family since 2011 having 3 years of previous veterinary experience. She obtained her Veterinary Technician License from Baker in 2011 and is also certified in Veterinary Forensics. While Alisha enjoys every aspect of her job, she has a special interest in surgery. In her spare time, she likes gardening, baking and spending time with her husband and 2 children. She shares her home with a Border Collie mix named Charlotte, 4 cats and a Dutch rabbit named Henry.

Susan - Technician Assistant
Sue has been a part of the Briarwood family since 2006. She is a Certified Veterinary Assistant and also has an Associates degree in Data Processing. What she enjoys best about working at Briarwood is meeting new people and their pets and assisting in meeting their pets need. Sue is married and has two adult children. In her free time, she enjoys cooking, cleaning, reading, puzzles, decorating and walking in the woods. Sue has 3 cats; Gigi, Gabby & Kitty and a Sheltie dog named Roxie.
Andrea - Technician Assistant and Receptionist
Andrea joined the Briarwood family in 2018 with 1 year of previous veterinary experience. Her favorite part about working at Briarwood is helping the animals and consistently learning new things about animal care and Veterinary science. Most of Andrea's free time is spent caring for her infant daughter, but she also enjoys volunteering at Genesee County Animal Control, reading, video and table top games. Andrea has 2 cats named Lucy and Autumn.

Stacy - Receptionist
Stacy has been a valued member of the Briarwood Veterinary Hospital family since 1997. She earned her Associates degree in Liberal Arts from Mott Community College. What Stacy enjoys most about her job is interacting with her coworkers, the clients and their pets. Stacy has a beautiful daughter named Mackenzie, two dogs Maddie and Max and 3 cats. In her free time, she enjoys reading and spending time with her family.
Jan - Receptionist
Jill joined Briarwood in 2014 as a receptionist having 4 years of veterinary experience. Previous to working in the veterinary field, Jill worked as a certified medical assistant. She and her husband have three children. In her free time, Jill enjoys camping and spending time with her family. Jill has always loved, rescued and cared for animals. She is a true animal lover and has 2 Golden Retrievers that are certified therapy dogs, 2 Chihuahua’s, 4 cats and 3 birds.
April - Receptionist
April joined Briarwood in 2017 after having 15 years of previous veterinary experience. Her favorite part of working at Briarwood is getting to know the clients, and loving on Bud the clinic cat. In her free time, she enjoys camping, photography, traveling and spending time outdoors. She and her husband have two children. She also shares her home with her Basset hound named Boone, her Goldendoodle named Woodson and her cat named Albert.
Joanne has been a part of the Briarwood family since 2007. She enjoys conversing with the clients and getting to know their pets. She has 2 grown daughters; Samantha who lives in Georgia and Sarah who lives in Canada. Both of her daughters have several pets of their own and are animal lovers like their mom. Joanne has 3 dogs, 5 cats, 2 Cockatiels and 1 turtle. In her free time, Joanne also works for a local rescue organization.
